Andrew at Crafts and Minis got me interested in #HobbyStreak last year when he began posting his videos and tweets about his daily progress in the hobby. The idea is that you do a little every day and record it on Twitter with the #HobbyStreak hashtag so that people can follow along and, together with everyone else who's doing the same, you can see some real progress as time passes.
This year I decided to give it a try. You can follow my daily updates on my Twitter feed and, from time to time I'll be updating this page with my progress as well.

Day 913 1st July 2022. Social commitments curtailed my time today so I just assembled and base coated my Scottish command and a couple of beehives.
Day 914 2nd July 2022. Making progress on the last of my Scottish.
Day 915 3rd July 2022. My latest painting update.
Day 916 4th July 2022. Static grass. As part of my ongoing scenery upgrade, I've re-based my graveyards to fix the warping, added grass to my cacti and repainted a set of 3rd party islands. Exciting stuff!

Day 917 5th July 2022. Back to the last of my Scottish after an extra long day at work.
Day 918 6th July 2022. Steady progress on the last of my Scottish.
Day 919 7th July 2022. More paint applied to the last of my Scottish.
Day 920 8th July 2022. Nearly there now.

Day 921 9th July 2022. With the Scottish cavalry and command done, my Scottish Renaissance army is complete.

Day 922 10th July 2022. My final Scottish units are based.

Day 923 11th July 2022. My next Renaissance army is underway. Religious fanatics. I spent this evening adding a flesh highlight to these 33 GW flagellants I bought off eBay and fixing any scuff marks.
Day 924 12th July 2022. I'm waiting for some items to arrive before I can continue with the flagellants' bases so I've moved on to the clergy. Lots of cleanup and scraping for these and not enough time to basecoat them tonight.
Day 925 13th July 2022. The heat is getting beyond a joke here. Tonight I scraped some nuns and choir boys, assembled some wheelbarrows and cleaned up some impaled skeletons. And sweated, I sweated a lot.
Day 926 14th July 2022. Basecoated the clergy. More scraping was needed.
Day 927 15th July 2022. Finally got to put some paint on my clergy. Still too hot to be enjoyable under the painting lights.

Day 929 17th July 2022. That's the basic colours blocked in. Highlighting next.
Day 930 18th July 2022. Despite the heat, I managed to do a second coat of red and grey and tidy the edges. Not enjoying this weather at all.

HobbyStreak Hiatus
A trip to A&E because my leg that started swelling at the beginning of the week seemed to be getting worse resulted in 18+ hours of blood tests, tubes and very strong pain killers that put me out of operation for the next two weeks. I've decided not to count this as a break in my HobbyStreak which will resume at the beginning of August. |
