The Plan
This is a project I've long wanted to do but have never had that special 'push' to actually start it. Thanks to a kickstarter from Atomico Press for their third set of Wuxia miniatures I've got my spark. I backed to receive all three sets which gives me a good coverage of the basic tropes. To these characters I plan to add some basic troop types from other ranges to provide minions and extras. I want to build a large inn for them to fight around too. Currently I'm undecided as to how to stage the games. I'm split between role playing and skirmish- inclining towards skirmish as it makes the writing easier. The trick will be coming up with a fast flowing, intuitive system that keeps the special Wuxia atmosphere without slowing down game play. The miniatures

I've decided to call my rules the Way of the Exploding Fist after the 1985 computer game of the same name as they feature an 'exploding' dice mechanic. Every time you roll a 6 on a D6 you roll another die and add that to your total. If this die is a 6 you roll another and so on. Making the scenery
I'll be posting full how-to step-by-step guides as I go. I'm going to start with some generic basic buildings and work up to the Dragon Gate Inn as a finale. Here's the test piece house: I bought a set of walls from Oshiro Model Terrain.
Some new Oshiro walls.
Although I painted these Reaper Miniatures for my Pirates project they fit nicely here too.
Some adolescent amphibious assassins from Greebo Games.
Some Kung fu heroes from Reaper Miniatures.
Atomico Press assassins.
A Reaper Indian fanatic with a chain weapon.
My Atomico boar demon and a pair of hopping vampires
